About Changing the Way We Care

In Moldova, CRS is implementing Changing the Way We CareSM (CTWWC), a global initiative to promote safe, nurturing families for children from residential institutions and children at-risk of family separation.  This work involves coordination among a variety of government and non-government stakeholders at the national and raional levels to advance childcare reform and strengthen families.  CRS is also working to support the capacity strengthening and organizational development of Moldovan NGOs inclusive of training, on-the-job coaching, and accompaniment. Activities include reforming national systems of care for children and young people; supporting separated families with reunification and reintegration; developing alternative family and community-based care systems; closing harmful residential institutions; and calling for funders to divest from supporting institutions for children and young people and redirect their funding to alternatives that strengthen communities and keep families together.

Job Summary:

You will support the day-to-day delivery of responsive, effective and efficient implementation of high-quality programming in support of CRS’ mission and CTWWC Moldova strategic objectives.

Roles and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support implementation of all CTWWC project activities in Moldova.
  • Facilitate communication with all members of the project team, including relevant CRS staff in Moldova and internationally, implementing partner organizations, and government representatives.
  • Provide translation and editing support (including informal interpretation for English-speaking staff during meetings and events; record and transcribe meeting minutes; draft correspondence messages).
  • Compile data, perform data entry and data verification in relation to project activities and support the knowledge management and programmatic file storage of the organization.
  • Provide logistical and communication support for event planning activities.

Basic Qualifications 

  • University degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, foreign languages, management, international relations, or journalism.
  • Experience working in an office environment in a project support and implementation role. Experience with a local or international NGO a plus.
  • Experience in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and information management systems. Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Experience designing and preparing communications products such as fact sheets, newsletters, blogs and social media posts a plus.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow and be a part of social development in Moldova.

Required Languages – English and Romanian

Travel –none or limited within Moldova

Key Working Relationships:  

Internal: CRS staff based in Moldova and Europe Zone and global team members engaged in Changing the Way We CareSM (global directors, technical advisors, etc.)

External: Staff of NGO partner organizations in Moldova and various government institutions.
