POSITION SUMMARY

EducationUSA is seeking to hire a Higher Education and Special Projects Coordinator, who will coordinate region-wide projects related U.S. HEI promotion and a variety of projects that improve efficiency and coordination among the EducationUSA Advising Centers in Eurasia and Central Asia. The primary responsibilities of this position will include U.S. HEI relationship management, EducationUSA Fair coordination and a variety of special projects that will likely focus on cohort curriculum development in 2024.  This position is envisioned as a leadership opportunity for an experienced adviser who can spearhead strategic initiatives at the regional level. The position reports to the Regional EducationUSA Lead Adviser.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

U.S. HEI Relationship Management (30%)

  • Manage a webinar series for U.S. HEIs to promote US education to students in the region.
  • Serve as a point-of-contact and convener for U.S. HEIs and advisers, including creating and maintaining a database of U.S. HEI contacts interested in recruiting students from the region and serving as a resource for all EducationUSA Advisers to identify potential speakers and admissions contacts
  • Create and disseminate content through social media, newsletters, digests, event calendars, program updates,
  • Engage HEIs actively in fairs and special initiatives

EducationUSA Fair Coordination (30%)

  • Handle the day-to-day program coordination of EducationUSA Fairs in the region
  • Coordinate and support adviser committees related to the fairs
  • Work with IIE to ensure fairs are properly represented on the fair portal, track payments, answer question for U.S. HEIs and work with the REAC to ensure the process is working smoothly
  • Draft materials for U.S. HEIs and participants including fair booklets (may be digital)
  • Update fair related websites
  • Plan and coordinate an info session related to each fair/tour
  • Provide reporting, especially from the IIE fair portal

Special Project Coordination (40%)

  • In 2024, work with advisers throughout the region to develop a unified curriculum and timeline for cohort advising throughout the region
  • Research and build relationships with vendors that support programming
  • Train advisers on tools and topics related to cohort advising
  • Convene targeted adviser working groups to identify areas to improve efficiency and collaboration, develop action plans to achieve goals
  • Coordinate roles and timelines for concrete delivery of scopes of work for special initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive knowledge of the S. higher education system and its application process
  • Proficiency in leading online webinars on platforms like Zoom
  • Experience in social media marketing, including Canva design software, and Google Analytics
  • Fluent in English and another local language
  • Cross-cultural skills, especially in the area of communication
  • Experience in public speaking and professional training activities
  • Ability to develop connections and work cooperatively with partners and stakeholders from various sectors including higher education, U.S. government and private companies
  • Excellent time management, strategic planning and implementation skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree related to international education or development, international relations, education, or other related area
  • At least 3 years of experience as an EducationUSA Adviser preferred
