GIZ - Advisor for Coordination and Cooperation

The German Development Cooperation (GIZ) is looking for an Advisor for Coordination and Cooperation to join the “Strong Businesses and Communities for Moldova” Project team. This project is financed by the European Union, Swiss Government, as well as the German Government.

This position is planned to start on 01 November 2023 and last for a 12-month period with the possibility to extend.

The primary role of the Advisor for Coordination and Cooperation is to support the team responsible for cross-cutting topics within the project.

The permanent workplace for this position is in Chisinau.

The overall responsibilities covered by this position are as follows:

  • effectively coordinating activities within the project;
  • effectively coordinating activities in the framework of international cooperation with other partners;
  • supporting the communication and visibility team;
  • supporting with the organisation of events;
  • supporting with requests from country office and commissioning parties;
  • performing any other work-related tasks contributing to the project success.

Required qualifications:

  • BA and/or Master degree in political or social sciences, business, media, journalism or other related field;
  • at least 3 years general work experience in a coordinating role;
  • previous experience with GIZ and co-financing organisations, such as Delegation of European Union or other development partners would be an advantage;
  • experience in a coordinating role in an organisation, experience in event management;
  • be able to work autonomously and on own initiative while reporting regularly to the technical manager and / or project management;
  • be a team player, supportive of colleagues and able to ask for support when required;
  • be able to work to deadlines, under stress, and cheerfully;
  • excellent diplomatic skills and ability to work with people from different backgrounds;
  • excellent planner and implementer, capable of withstanding pressure and meeting tight deadlines;
  • business fluency in English and Romanian; knowledge of Russian and/or German is a strong asset;
  • excellent computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Internet and other);
  • confidential handling of information;
  • willing and able to travel inside and outside the country for event support, when needed;
  • Moldovan citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Moldova
