WeWorld is an Italian organization working since 1971 in international cooperation and humanitarian aid. Italian member of ChildFund Alliance, global network for the defense of children's rights and present in 27 countries.

The outbreak of the war in Ukraine has put millions of people at risk: WeWorld took action immediately to provide aid to refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine to find refuge in Moldova. The main sectors of intervention are child protection, psychosocial support mainly to women and children, distribution of hygiene, food and non-food items, and education in emergency, livelihood and social cohesion.

Job Title: Project Officer

Duty Station: Chisinau, Moldova (readiness to travel in Moldova)

Starting date: as soon as possible

Application closing date: 18.08.2023

Level of Effort: Full time

The duration of the contract: 6 months contract (1-month probation).

Line Manager: Project Coordinator

Primary purpose of the role: The Project Officer (PO) performs project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects in line with established objectives.

The PO provides a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope.

Key responsibilities:

- Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes.

- Communicate with stakeholders and participate in coordinating working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans.

 Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables.

- Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends, preparing project briefs, to support informed decision.

Must have for this position:

  • Previous experience in project management and / or administration
  • Fluency in English, Romanian and Russian
  • Eligibility to work in Moldova
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially in Excel

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • University degree relevant to the position
  • Previous experience working with an NGO
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment and with strict deadlines
  • Driver’s license, ability to drive a car with manual transmission
  • Willingness to travel in Moldova, as required
  • Good time management and organizational skills
