The role compliments the overall payment flow of the response in either Moldova with a focus on timely payment to suppliers and partners and book keeping. The post holder supports the Accountant to process financial transactions and analysis. The role has specific responsibility for purchase ledger and undertakes the processing and payment of all supplier invoices, partners payment and expenses claims.

What can you bring?


As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you are responsible for the day to day operation of the Purchase Ledger systems (including local currency and €) for the Plan Country office.

You will: 

  • Check invoices - including coding, authorisation and required backup;
  • Ensure that all invoices and expenses submitted to Purchase Ledger comply with Plan’s finance procedures;
  • Liaise with external suppliers regarding queries both in writing and on the telephone; Reconcile supplier statements;
  • Bank Reconciliation for Supplier Invoices Payments;
  • To support the Accountant in preparing and analysing financial transactions, month and year end reporting and analyses;
  • Support establishment and operation of an archiving system for supplier payments, all vouchers and partner liquidations in country;
  • Support monthly cash forecasts for the country office and liaise with the Country finance manager for final consolidation;
  • Support Petty cash replenishment vouchers and validate petty cash count on a regular basis as per Plan financial guidelines.

You'll have: 

  • Knowledge of internal controls in financial management;
  • Problem solving skills and hands-on behaviour;
  • Team player and good communication skills;
  • Strong written and spoken Romanian; 
  • Good written and spoken English;
  • Financial systems expertise. Fluency with complex financial systems including multi-currency accounting packages / ERP;
  • Knowledge and experience in using SAP and Microsoft D365;
  • Previous experience in NGO sector.

Type of Role: National, fixed term contract of 12 months with possibility of extension upto 24 months
