Call for Expert or Experts (short-term) to Create E-learning Video Lessons (Organic Agriculture)



Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) is a USAID-funded program implemented by CNFA in Moldova. The goal of F2F is to generate rapid economic growth in the agricultural sector. 

As a part of project activities, CNFA is looking to contract the services of expert(s) to continue efforts to develop an E-learning educational portal of the Moldova Organic Value Chain Alliance (MOVCA), which was initiated in 2019. The portal is a tool to train farmers and students about the principles of organic agriculture. The platform officially launched at the end of 2020 and has already reached 2,000 registered users (www.studii.movca.md). The current call for experts aims to expand the knowledge base presented by the platform. 

The courses taught on the portal www.studii.movca.md are led by top Organic Agriculture Experts and practitioners from Moldova, including organic farmers, as well as specialists from certification bodies. The length of each video is between 5 and 15 minutes, preferably 7-10 minutes. The course is structured by chapters, each divided into 4-6 video lessons. The expert(s) should have the capability and experience to create E-learning video lessons from script to filming, for relevant topics as follows (single or multiple subjects per expert): 

  1. Food quality specific standards (IFS, ISO).
  2. Organic raw material processing – best practices.
  3. Organic conversion – main steps and recommendations.
  4. Case study: the financial advantages of organic farming.
  5. Weed and pest control in organic farming.
  6. Permitted inputs in Organic Farming.
  7. Profitability comparison between conventional and organic production. 
  8. Organic products: local market access terms.
  9. Organic grains export. Specifics and risks.
  10. Cultivation of organic berries.

Specific services include the following:

  1. Determine the information to be delivered, based on the E-learning platform audience, in order to increase student engagement with the video.
  2. Write the script for specific video lessons.
  3. For the parts of the video shot outside of the studio offered by the video production service provider: facilitate the communication the proposed farmer/location to be involved and project coordinator.
  4. Assist video director (from a subcontracted video production company) with storyboard inclusions.
  5. Record the expert narration.
  6. Provide feedback on the final edited version of the video lesson.

Expected period of performance: July 05 – August 15, 2022

Expected level of effort: maximum 5 days per video, with no possibility of extension. The length of each video is between 5 and 15 minutes, preferably 7-10 minutes. Assignment Location: The consultant’s work location will be Chisinau, Moldova.

Qualification requirements include:

  • Strong understanding of the Moldovan organic agricultural sector;
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in the field of the selected topic;
  • Good command of Romanian, English is an advantage;
  • Good time management skills;

The Expert responsibilities will include:

  • Develop script on selected topic.
  • Communicate and arrange the logistics for video record, if filming outside the proposed studio. 
  • Assist video director with storyboard inclusions.
  • Record expert narration.
  • Provide feedback on the final edited version of the video lesson.

Candidates must submit:

  1. Cover letter, stating the subject of their specialization (from the list above), price per day of services and three contacts for references from organizations/individuals for which the candidate has successfully performed similar work
  2. CV/Resume presenting relevant experience for the specific assignment
